Welcome to the Arizona Bus Club's website!

We love camping with friends in the desert, up in the pines or out on the coast. We're at all the shows and help our sister clubs just as they help us. We spend time working on our rides and welcome anyone interested in Volkswagen buses to join the fun. We have our own Yahoo email group which comes in handy for setting up impromptu events or picking each other's brains.

Raffle Bus Update from our President

Talked to Kyle about getting started on the metal work on the SC. He's finishing up a couple projects at TLR, along with waiting for the weather to warm up enough to merit working on a raffle bus. We should be getting busy with the metal work in a week or two. Not sure how long that will take, probably depends on the heat-to-beer ratio or something like that. My best aguess is that it should most likely make it to the OCTO show in early June in primer of some sort. Probably get as far east as Casa de Avondale on the return trip from OCTO, where we'll begin the finish body work. Then paint, Then assembly. At least that all sounds good. We'll see how closely we can stick to this very "tentative" schedule. Trust me, when we get to a point where we need a handfull of hands putting the bus together, we'll ley everyone know. I'll try and keep you all posted as we go anyway.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make Jerome Jamboree XVII a roaring success! We had a blast and raised a record amount for our local charities; Thank You!

We encourage everyone to patronize the businesses who donated parts and greatfully acknowledge the individuals who donated parts, time, expertise, blood, sweat and beers to the restoration of the beautiful 1963 Standard won by Melissa Jess of Phoenix.

2008 is going to be special; this year's bus is a 1960 Euro Semaphore Single Cab! This lovely bus will be restored to stock right down to the 40 horse powerplant. Raffle tickets are 50 cents and sold ONLY at the event. Indeed, someone leaves every year with a 50 cent restored Split Window Bus that we helped get back on the road. (Being a charity, we sometimes accept donated buses; contact a board member for more information.). Please check the wish list and see if you have anything we can use.

We meet monthly at Rositas, (480) 966-0852, 960 W University Dr., Tempe, AZ 85281-7808, on the 3rd Wednesday of every month. 7pm is the suggested start time but come early to get a good seat, enjoy some tasty grub and meet some friendly folks.

So come on in, enjoy the site and hopefully we'll see you at a meeting for event soon!
